Limbo Skating
This could also win the prize for being one of the strangest extreme sports! So as long as you can do the splits, are very strong and good on skates you will be able to try your hand at limbo skating which is generally done under cars! It’s huge in India and attracts those youngsters with gymnastic abilities with the world record being held by a young boy for limbo skating beneath a total of 57 cars.
Crocodile Bungee
If your usual bungee jump is no longer enough then why not try the spiced up version and jump over a body of water filled with crocodiles. Guaranteed to get your pulse racing!
Volcano Boarding
If you fancy racing down an active volcano at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour then this is the sport for you! The foothills of Nicaragua’s Cerro Negro Mountain attracts thousands of travellers and their boards, dressed in protective jump suits, knee pads and helmets. Volcano boarding has attracted over 10,000 participants since its creation in 2005.
Cliff Diving
Cliff diving is one of the riskiest forms of diving so standards have been fixed to protect the participants. Originating in the Hawaiian Island of Lana in 1770, the King demanded that his men leap off a cliff to demonstrate their courage and loyalty. Today divers will brave the rocks at a great height to take the plunge into the deep water below. Reaching speeds of up to 100 km per hour in a matter of seconds, this sport offers great thrills to all who love it.
Underwater Hockey
This sport was invented in the UK by divers wishing to maintain their fitness levels during the winter. Using snorkelling equipment and of course all of the hockey gear, players have to hold their breath for long periods which is not too hard for experienced divers. The sport has gained popularity all over the world and national teams exist in some countries and participate in world championships.
Slacklining
If you have great balance and a stomach for heights then this could be the extreme sport for you. Slacklining uses a nylon webbing that is stretched between two points but unlike tightrope walking, the line is not rigid but stretches and bounces like a rubber band! As the webbing is flat and not round like rope it prevents your foot from rolling but because of the flexible nature of the line, it allows the slackliner to perform tricks and stunts offering amazing displays.
So if your North London skydiving team are no longer offering you the adrenaline rush you need then consider mixing it up and trying one of these more unusual activities if you dare! One thing is for certain, there will always be something new happening in the world of crazy extreme sports!
