There is a difficulty in determining if the way your wedding day unfolds really holds the future of a marriage, and many believe there is a subtle meaning in each and every little wedding day tradition and they should be followed as planned and proposed.
However, there is also some trouble in deciding which of the traditions carry the actual beauty of the event, celebrating a new relationship and all its vows, and which are silly superstition instances, or even outdated scare stories.
Same letter last name
It is also believed that if your last names start with the same letter, it means that your marriage will not have any future and that you should reconsider the whole thing immediately. However, last names do not have any effect on how a marriage will turn out, so just make sure that you and your partner are on the same page throughout your marriage.
Never marry in the month of May
As the old saying goes: “Marry in the month of May, and you’ll surely rue the day.” You should not get married in the month of May otherwise you will forever doom your marriage. However, there are many brides who have said the faithful “yes” and are still doing great. May is a wonderful spring month to get married in, and unless you believe this superstition you should consider May for your wedding as the weather is lovely that time of the year.
Steer clear of blind people and pregnant women
Most superstitions, like this one, were conceived in the olden times; however they still continue to be used even in modern days. It was believed that seeing a pregnant woman or a blind guy when proposing is a bad omen. So no matter what you do, try to avoid running into pregnant and blind people if you want a successful marriage.
Watch your dress
Allegedly, depending on your wedding dress, you can predict how happy you will be throughout your marriage. There is a palette of colors which are apparently no-nos and unless you get wed in white, you will have a terrible marriage. However, you are safe with whatever wedding accessoriesyou choose, from party decoration and wedding ceremony accessories, to wedding toasting flutes. Just make sure that everything goes well with the wedding dress, otherwise you will have a fashion faux pas at your wedding.
The veil
It was believed that the veil was worn to ward off evil spirits and bad witchcraft. However, it is plainly obvious that it is only part of a tradition, and whether you choose a veil or not, you can still have a wonderful wedding and an amazing marriage.
Hidden spiders
If you are squeamish of spiders then this superstitions is going to leave you breathless. It is believed that if you find a spider inside your wedding gown, you will have the best of luck throughout your marriage. Never mind the screaming bride running in panic because of a tiny spider. Even if someone removes the spider, make sure not to kill it, it is bad luck to kill a spider inside a building.
